Upcoming Elections

March 2026 Primary Election

The next scheduled Election Day is Tuesday, March 3, 2026.  This is the Primary Election where we select the candidates for each party that will run in the November General Election.  For any office, if no candidate receives more than 50% of the vote, a runoff election will be held on Tuesday, May 26th for the top two vote-getters.  Early Voting for these elections typically starts 15 days prior to Election Day and ends on the Friday before.  For the March 3rd Primary Election, Early Voting will start on Tuesday, February 17th (no voting on the 16th, President’s Day).  The last day to early vote will be Friday, February 27th.

The Primary Election is a very important step in the process of electing our officials.  Most major State offices will be on the ballot, starting from Governor on down.  In the Texas Legislature, State Senator Donna Campbell’s term doesn’t come up until 2028, but all State House member seats will be on the ballot.  Comal County is currently represented by Carrie Isaac who will be seeking reelection.

On the Federal level, we will also be voting for a U.S Senator to represent Texas for the next six years, as well as crowded race for U.S. House of Representative District 21.

And finally, but maybe most importantly, numerous County positions will be up for grabs.  They’ll be various Judge positions, County Commissioner slots, Justice of the Peace offices, and one contested Precinct Chair race.

The Comal County Republican Party held a drawing on Thursday evening December 18, 2025 to determine the order in which candidates will appear on the March 3rd Republican Primary Election ballot. Once the blind draw for each office was concluded, the results were sent to the Texas Secretary of State's portal for certification. The certified results (in ballot order) are included in the following link:

In addition to the candidates on the ballot, you’ll also have the chance to let the Republican Party of Texas know your opinion on 10 propositions. These non-binding questions at the end of the Republican Ballot will help shape our State party’s platform for upcoming 2026 conventions as well as legislative priorities when the Texas House and Senate reconvene in Austin in 2027. See the list HERE.

More Election Information

For your convenience, we’ve included some links below if you want more information on the County and State election processes.  There are also links if you want to become a Deputy Voter Registrar (so you can register voters in Comal County), or volunteer as a “Poll Watcher” in the next election.  As the name implies, Poll Watchers observe the election process and report back to whoever appointed them to do that job.
